Surprise!
Was a very warm day, last night's severely noisy thunderstorms gave way to slowly clearing clouds. Going home at 4:45 it was kind of a milk sky shading to blue in the east.
I let two of the cats out after they ate, and was getting ready to fry potato for my own dinner. As I worked, I heard a weird clattery sound, thought it was some noisy vehicle out front. Then I realized I was hearing it through the kitchen windows, as well. Went to the door and found SURPRISE! It's a hailstorm. Yes, quarter-sized hail makes quite a racket when it falls. Since it was still in the upper 60's, they melted soon.
Neither cat was anywhere to be seen. They both showed up later, after the hail melted off and the small rain shower was over.
