Ugh. I can tell it's a crappy day, already
Yeah, woke up to go to the bathroom at 8:15, the phone rang as I was staggering past it. It was someone from the Bureau of Worker's Comp, who I had to tell to call me back in 10 minutes because I was on my way to the bathroom (incontinence waits for no one).
I had just enough time to feed the cats and get back around to this side of the kitchen when she rang again. As it turned out, she had to call to clarify something. Yeah, in 2005 someone with a name completely different from mine filed Worker's Comp with my social security number.
This started my head aching.
She said it wasn't that uncommon for them to have keyed in someone's number with a digit off, and they just file a clarification with the Social Security Administration, that that number belongs to me. GEE I HOPE THAT'S ALL IT TAKES. FUCK.
I also told her I was unhappy to find out that this had to go to BWC, and she confirmed that, yes, if it happens on work property to me it is by default BWC. I do have the right to file that I don't want to send it through, but yes, my regular insurance will not touch it. Not being one of the 1% wealthiest Americans, that means I have to do it this way.
And, as an added bonus, my followup appointment to get the stitches out, has to be with a BWC certified doctor. She also asked if I would be going back full-time or on reduced hours. Which... does this mean I don't get my sick leave from the library, that BWC is going to be involved in that, too?
So many layers of unhappy now. And I have yet to tackle the retirement thing, to see if I will have to file an amended application with OPERS.
