Heh. That didn't last long
For the record, I did make it into work this morning. The supervisor for the day was at the desk when I came in, coughing up my lungs, and she noted that I sounded really bad. I told her I was greatly improved, though still sick. She suggested I take my germs and go home, and I gave her the speech about knowing how short-staffed we usually are on Saturdays. She told me that, for a change, we had full staff scheduled, so having me leave would only set us back to normal Saturday short-staffing. AR AR AR!
Yes, I left, doing my sea lion impression as I went.
To be fair, I hadn't been that bad until I stepped out of the house and hit the cold air. My lungs went "OH CRAP WE CAN'T DEAL! Cough, now, COUGH!!" and so it went. Now that I've been back inside for what, almost two hours? Not coughing much. Though, I do have more nasal congestion- and that's with taking decongestant this morning. So, yeah. Still sick.
Last night Singer was doing really well- right up until the topical analgesic wore off. I know when it happened, because he was on my bed, and started trying to scratch his cheek where the abcess was. He yelped when he contacted it, and stopped trying. He was much subdued afterwards.
This morning he did really well with eating, considering the pain he must be in. I opened a new can of the Fancy Feast, and gave him half the can, mixed with three teaspoons of water to thin the gravy down. He lapped all the liquid, and ate some of the solid. Tonight I will try mixing the food with hot water and a little olive oil, and see if I can mash up the bits to be easier to take in the liquid. He's been walking around some, but he is still obviously feeling poorly.
Right now I do have enough cat food to make it through today, and tomorrow for breakfast. So, I don't have to go back out today. Which makes me happy. And hopefully I will be better tomorrow, and won't mind so much dragging to the store for more cat food.
