Home again- for now

So, the vet's wife dropped off Singer just now. She said he ate a bit overnight, but the vet suspects the cat is just plain pissed off at them. He's got a three-day antibiotic shot, and they did anaesthetize his gum again, but if he's still not eating right by Thursday, they'll take him back again and pull the tooth. It's just.. they don't want to do that, if they can avoid it. There is nothing wrong with the tooth, it's the gum around it that's failing, only there isn't enough gum available to reconstruct anything to completely cover the root of the tooth. And when they cleaned it out with Singer completely under, there was so much junk removed that the vet believes he's been working on this problem for a long time, possibly months. Which... I would believe.

So when the vet's wife left, I went over and opened a can of Fancy Feast to see if Singer would eat for me. He licked up some of the gravy, but wasn't all that interested. He was more intent on nosing around the dishes in the sink, which, sadly, had nothing he would be interested in (oatmeal and an apple core). I don't even have any ground beef to cook for supper, or you know I would fix something that left a greasy-meat residue in a frying pan for him to lick up when it cooled.

So. We're back to waiting and seeing. And I am totally ignoring the little wobble of his gait, that has gotten worse with his lengthy illness (the wobble was something that came with him, like his terrible nose and ear crud).
