It's been a day

Actually, I guess we are on day 2 of "Singer won't eat". I told him he's awfully clear-eyed for a cat who is apparently wanting to die. He did take two or three licks of the liquid with the second round of cat food I tried for him this evening. I have ruled out chicken noodle soup, bacon grease from the drippings jar, olive brine, four kinds of cat food, and milk- these are all currently not interesting to him (though they have been consumed in the past). The vet is going to take him back on Thursday and pull the molar on Friday if he hasn't come around. I'm not sure there's going to be any cat left by then, he's lost so much weight.

And this morning I had to drag myself upstairs and get a shower. That was... not fun. After I recovered (which took about an hour), I called into work. I told the boss that I was really calling in sick for Rover shift, that I could sit and do keyboarding, or clean discs, etc. He said that was fine, but that if I felt like I needed to go home I shouldn't hesitate. It was intermittently painful (sitting, instead of taking breaks to lie down, like I did at home this weekend), but it turned out OK.

Now I've gotten the trash out, and the cat litters cleaned up with fresh newspaper under them, and I just finished my dinner. I'm done for the day- and how! The worse knee is most definitely unhappy, but I think it will be better tomorrow.

And who knows, maybe Singer will decide to eat then.
