Yes, it's the Ohio Public Employees Retirement System!
Having gotten nothing yet regarding the new health insurance that supposedly started as of Jan. 1, 2013, and needing to get back to the doctor for more antibiotic, I sat down and waded through voice menus and tried to find out what to do.
The new health insurance company has nothing on me so far- the rep told me that it is OPERS rule that they do not send the information along until after they have everything processed on their end and you already have received your first interim payment.
OPERS informed me that they did not receive my employer's "last day of work" certification until Jan. 8, and as such I am now looking at somewhere between 30 and 45 days before they will be processing my retirement. They allegedly sent out a confirmation, back in October when I first submitted my application, that there would, eventually, be health insurance. I told the rep that I had gotten many things from OPERS that I did not need, often duplications issued on the same date, but I didn't have anything like that. She said she could send out another copy of that today. I confirmed that there is, literally, nothing at all that I can do to help myself regarding health insurance until sometime in February or March, and she said that was correct. I told her thanks for nothing, and goodbye. Don't know if she'll send the amusingly useless letter or not.
Trying to get to the "this is a good exercise in letting go of things you can't change" stress-release phase, but man, I suck at that. Looks like it's gonna be me and the skin infection for the foreseeable future.
