Monday is my Sunday

monkey5sYesterday I pretty much just sat around reading. Oh, I did bake brownies, but that was it. I needed recovery time from the week at work, so I took it. I still hurt, but not as badly. I have to admit, it was a bit depressing that I didn't recover more.
Today I had to get some work done. But the weather is changing fast, and my arthritis would like to make sure I know that. Plus, the sinuses are v.v.unhappy. And I took my next-to-last dose of decongestant this morning. I had hoped to avoid buying more right now, since money is painfully tight at the moment. I suspect I will cave on that front. Because, ow.
Just now, I spent about an hour out front, chopping and hacking at the bushes that are getting overgrown. I took out pruners and the pruning saw, but my knees hurt so much that I could only spend the time with the hand pruners. Sawing will occur another day. I still have one more short section of bushes to go, but they will also have to wait for another time. And I have to admit, working around the large, recently-deceased tree was pretty depressing. I can't imagine having the money to get it taken down, but I have to come up with something, before it destabilizes and comes down on its own (because, power lines and the SE corner of the house are in the probably path of the fall).
The very black clouds to the north of us never quite managed to get to us. The prediction was for an occasional thunderstorm, but we only had light rain this morning, and wind and clouds and some sun this afternoon. It was a really lovely afternoon. I know I would enjoy the weather more if my face weren't trying to explode and my knees weren't screaming at me.
And it will be back to work again tomorrow. Once again, I have Rover1 shifts every day that I work. Which is also depressing. But not surprising.
