Three-day weekend. I had asked for today off because there was something I wanted to attend this evening.
Then time passed, my knees got so much worse, and I had other problems crop up. Did not even try to go to the show. But, I thought, at least with a three-day weekend, I might be able to gimp around and get some of the yard work done. Or housecleaning, go to do lots of that.
Sunday was not bad. I rested, then went up to visit the bro and s-i-l.
Monday I woke up feeling like I had partially died overnight, or something. Knees hurt, legs hurt, lower back muscle spasms, could barely hobble to the bathroom by leaning on one thing after another on the way. Which made it a big problem when the cat who never gets sick showed me that she had such a bladder infection that she was dribbling urine when she lay down anywhere. So I not only had to get the crate set up and capture the cat and carry her over to it, I also had to go around cleaning up urine from everywhere. Bending over was painful and difficult, but straightening up? Really wasn't happening. And carrying a 15-lb squirming cat, after hobbling around after her and finally getting her picked up? Made me cry, unreasonably.
Today the vet's wife dropped her off here and brought me a big bag of the special urinary tract healing food, to give all of them. I also picked up a prescription for her liquid antibiotic from Kroger's, and gave her her first dose tonight. By needle-less syringe, and apparently she was taking a breath to squawk when I pushed, so she had to hork and hork and huff after she ran off. Now I get to worry about the effects of her inhaling it.
I am able to move slightly less painfully today, but the worse knee is very swollen. I haven't done a single thing I need to do, not housework or yardwork or even a load of laundry. I HAVE to get the trash out tonight, but that's going to be in a bit. Right now I am just feeling like the worst pet mommy in the universe, and pretty much a failure at life in general.
Which makes me want to share my fail with the world!!!
