I've been having physical problems these past few weeks, like a strained shoulder, that when I was compensating with the other arm, managed to acquire a pinched nerve in that elbow, plus rotator cuff damage. All of which made me use the downstairs bathroom for all washing up and washing my hair.

Today I finally made it up to get a shower. Wow, was that awful! Getting up there was grueling and painful, and when I weighed myself I found that yeah, I have gained weight on the new blood pressure medication. Probably more weight than the extra edema shows. But the worst part was realizing just how difficult it is to function when I can't raise one arm above the shoulder. I mean, I got the hair washed, with extreme difficulty, but I realized there was no way I was going to be able to condition it and so on.

So, when I finished my short, miserable shower, I got dressed and went to Great Clips and got the hair cut off. My stylist was kind of strange, was fixated on certain things ("I just can't get over it! I didn't recognize this guy AT ALL! He was, like, a completely different person!" Um, OK?), and we had a small argument over how short Jamie Lee Curtis's pixie cut was in the Activia commercials. I wanted a spiky pixie cut, one that would always look messy. She said the cut in those commercials was super short on top. Eh, split the difference? She took the top to the length I cut my bangs, which is really short, and I think it would have worked better just a little longer than the bangs. But it will grow out, eventually. (She also cut my hair mostly dry, which I despise. Wet works better for cutting my hair.)

When I got home, I was all itchy with bits of hair everywhere. Stuck my head under the faucet and riiiinnnnnnnsed, then used a pea-sized bit of product and it's almost spiky. More importantly, it will be extremely low maintenance. And that makes me happy.
