monkey5sToo too too TOO TOO damned hot. Stinkin' stupid ugly mean weather. Accuweather noted that we were expecting 104 degrees F today. When we were getting ready to leave work (the air conditioner was struggling, but still working) I checked again, and they claimed that it was only 91 in my zipcode.
We stepped out the door into the baking oven and I realized that they were taking the temperature readings from somewhere on the other side of my zipcode. And in the shade. Or possibly an underground chamber.
My car (which, admittedly, had been sitting in full sun on asphalt all day) assured me it was 108 when I got in. But when I drove past the bank that has a temperature display, it read 103, so I'm thinking that 91 was bogus.
I changed as soon as I got home, and wet down my hair, and my clothes, and have been sitting at the kitchen table with the box fan on high blowing directly on me from 5 feet away. It really isn't helping. And my little netbook is running so hot at this point I can feel the heat radiating through the keyboard. And I will have to shut it down shortly- I can't lose this computer, since it's all I've got left.
