The day after insomnia
Jul. 29th, 2013 05:05 pmSo last night I got good sleep from about 1:30 to 4 am. Woke up to go to the bathroom, and that was it. No more sleep.
Got up to feed the cats at 7, went ahead and got washed up and dressed and got on with the day. This afternoon I was crashing, and was just about to go take a nap when the new owner of the house one over from mine started doing some heavy duty yard work.
By which I mean he is apparently clear-cutting the mid-height trees beside his garage. With chain saw. And an audience of noisy kids- probably the grandkids of the people down on the corner, grandma babysits a bunch of them most weekdays.
I'm having the usual day after insomnia symptoms- everything hurts, my knees don't want to support me, my stomach is pinging from 'indigestion' to 'stress pain' and back. Bonus sinus headache and I have already had one visual migraine.
I was feeling like an idiot for the insomnia, since I should be pretty stress-free now that I'm retired. But then I remembered that the floor jacks in the basement seem to be falling over- I haven't been down to see (stairs are a no-go many days, the basement stairs are THE WORST) but one went while I was walking over it in the utility room, so it's clearly an issue. I still have ALL THE CLEANING yet to do, and I don't even know who to call about the floor joist situation, not to mention is it worth trying to find someone to put in new floor jacks if I'm really going to have someone work on bracing the weak floor joists?
So yeah. Stress.
