Pain, and shopping
I finally made it to the big grocery store, the one I've been putting off for a few weeks now. Today was the second day of a 2-day sale that would save me lots of money for the stock-up items I need. So I finally was able to persuade myself to go, already.
It was grueling. And more painful than the last time. I deeply regretted not looking for a motorized cart when I came into the store, by the time I was at the back of the store and the pain set in. But I pushed on, and did my usual cutting of the list as I went. After I failed to figure out where two of the non-usual items were located, I began cutting in earnest. I also elected to go to a staffed checkout, instead of my usual self checkout.
It was nice that I saved around 35% on the half of the list I got, but oh, the pain. And the worst part was stopping in the restroom before I went out to the car. I have been wearing incontinence products for over a year now, and today, when I went to the bathroom here at home before I left, I had to change the pad. Except I was so into my head, trying to psych myself up to go to the store, that I failed to put on a new pad. Luckily I only spotted a little, and I had brought another pad with me, thinking I might need to change it again. But for mental lapses, this was so, so disturbing.
Then when I got home I hurt so much all over that it took a ridiculous amount of time to get into the house. But I can blame that on the fact that the current medication the doctor has me on for my blood pressure has drug interactions that require I not take the otc pain meds that I use to manage my chronic pain.
And now, now I will work slowly on putting things away, and resting. Lots and lots of resting.

Is it arthritis in the knees or hips, or something else?

And it's arthritis in the knees, and now one ankle, as well. But gimping around trying not to walk has made my back weak, and I recently injured one shoulder, then the other. I'm really ouchy these days.

Next time, get the motorized cart. :)

And it's been a time of it, lately, for my aches and pains. I know I shouldn't leave the grocery shopping for so long; if I wasn't getting so much at one time I could use the motorized cart easier.
