Sick again
Apr. 20th, 2013 06:54 pmI've been mostly healthy for several weeks now, but today? Ugh.
Yesterday I made it down to Meijer's for the things that were on sale. When I got back, there was a voicemail from Meijer's telling me that if I waited until Saturday (today), I would get 5% off all groceries plus 15% off general merchandise. I was grumpy about it, because I actually did have three general merchandise purchases this time that weren't even on sale (but when you need socks, it's best to just get them, because what I need is rarely on sale). I did the figuring and I would have saved just over $10 on my final bill.
But, going on Saturday is usually crowded, and I rarely can score an electric cart to use. Yesterday was not crowded, and the greeter saw me walkering in from the lot and got a cart ready for me. I was feeling not my best, so not having the cart would have meant omitting things on my list- well, more than I already omitted, because I do change my mind sometimes when I see the actual food item (I had to admit, I had no clue how to tell if those fresh mangoes were ripe, or good, or anything. And I decided that Florida blueberries were still not quite what I wanted, wherever they were hiding them).
But this morning? Ugh. Dinner last night did not sit well with me. But when I woke up to feed the cats this morning, I hurt all over so much that I could barely get the food dispensed. I went back to bed, then kept getting up to go to the bathroom- and shiver while I did so. Oh, I was warm enough under my comforter and blankets, but usually when I'm shivering like that I just go ahead and get washed up and dressed. Having the multiple layers of shirts plus socks and fake fur-lined clogs warms me right up.
There was no way I was going to be able to get up. So I eventually turned up the furnace a bit.
I am dressed now, not sure how long it will last. I took my temperature and I have a very slight fever, less than a degree. I've only put sips of water into my stomach all day, and now it's telling me we need to try food. I'll see how a banana does.
So. CLEARLY it was a good thing I got the groceries yesterday, because there is no way I could do it today, sale or not.
