Pinterest is deadly because it not only rewards you for stooging around the Intarwebz and finding (and pinning) interesting things, but it shows them to you on your own boards, so you can bask in what you've collected. Then, you can find things on Pinterest that other people have found, find out what that person has pinned, and so on.
I would equate it to the older days of LJ, having friendsfriends available- but with those entries being websites with visuals.
