I would say I'm beat, but that would show just how physically UNfit I am.

Today I broom swept about 2/3 of the side of the kitchen with the table and chairs. That was ALL. I got up enough cat hair to build at least one more cat from it, plus assorted other rubble and dirt. Yep, bad housekeeping, I lives it.

It took me two sets of work to do that much. And it is so difficult to look at all the overwhelming ELSE that needs doing, just on this side of the kitchen, without feeling like I've really done exactly NOTHING.

After a very long break, I went out to get fast food (grocery shopping- not happening today). It was so incredibly beautiful out that, when I got home, I went out with pruners and saw and work gloves, and did a little bit more yard work. For a lot of that I had both my walker and the trash barrel to help me keep my balance. But, after I finally gave up on the leaning over and trying to cut off tall, tough weeds and various saplings, I tried to sweep some of the decayed plant matter off the patio. As I was trying to make a regular broom behave like a push broom, and thinking, again, that I really need to buy a push broom for outside, I kept feeling- and hearing- my shoulder crack and snap. Part of that was the awkward angle at which I was pushing, but more of it was because I had to keep my other hand firmly on the walker. So I couldn't even lean into the push.

And, again, there is SO MUCH yet to do that it is very hard to keep in mind that I really did do SOMETHING today. And celebrate that tiny, infinitesimal accomplishment. In short (OH TOO LATE!!), GO ME, but the journey ahead is still so very long.

What you got done today is a ton. I relate to the overwhelmed feeling and I'm not having to negotiate a walker, so give yourself big credit. One day at a time is all you can do--and you should feel accomplished for what you did do today.
