Not much happening election-wise this year

I had wondered about the fact that I had really not seen electioneering signs around my town. Sure, the township to the west of us has signs up all over to vote against the planned mega outlet mall (to which I could only offer a heartfelt, 'good luck with that, guys!'), but here in town, nothing.
I finally went to the county Board of Elections page and downloaded the absentee ballot, to see what was up. Answer: REEEEEEALLLLY not much for me. Sure, there are a couple of judges running, uncontested, so I don't bother. Also, my village council has four seats open, for which only three people have filed (and I wouldn't have voted for them even if there had been a choice). Same with the school board, though there are some write-in candidates for those. Don't care. Yep, that makes me a bad citizen.
Oh wait! Look at that, the local grocery wants to be allowed to sell beer for a longer span of time on Sundays, instead of being restricted to just 1-5. Hmmm. Do I care enough about buying beer on Sundays to vote on this? Probably not.
Yes, I absolutely should go vote. For the beer. Maybe I will. After all, I don't get to be around people much these days, so it would be a good exercise for me, what with making small talk with the Board of Election officials at the polling place.
