And way too late for Halloween.

We had a cold snap and snow overnight. This evening I went out to the car, and when I came back, I had to grab the handles mounted on the doorframe that I use to pull my arthritic knees up the steps into the house. My hands were FREEZING on the metal handles- it was just a short trip to and from the car, no need for gloves, right?

After I got in and took my coat off, I realized one hand was still very cold- and the first two fingers were completely numb. And from the second knuckle up, completely white. Like, dead body white.

Research showed this is Raynaud's. And it is (most likely) another ugly side effect of the aggravating beta blocker my doctor put me on for high blood pressure. And that the white is because, hey, the arteries in my fingers had collapsed as a reaction to the cold. Would have been better if they turned blue, that just means not enough blood was getting through. Yes, it passed within five minutes, I mean, suddenly there was color, and feeling, again. But I am so not thrilled.
