monkey5sI had placed an order back in the spring for a large amount of different coffees from a store in Minneapolis that sells fair trade coffee. I've ordered from them for years now, it's a good variety of wonderful coffee, all freshly roasted, shipped fast. In recent years it was something I had to do without, for the cost of shipping (the coffee was fairly well-priced, comparatively). But I made a big order in the spring, and tried freezing a lot of it.
Most of it froze quite well. There was one blend that really didn't do well, but the rest was better, when I thawed and ground it, than it would have been if I'd just stored it unopened in the cupboard.
So this time I ordered a bit more than last time- and discovered it was enough to tip over into an unadvertised "free shipping" status. Plus, when I opened the box just now, I realized they gave me another 12-oz pkg of the coffee I had ordered in the 5 lb. size. For free! And it's the stuff that freezes the best!
I'm having trouble remembering that it's 10:30 at night, so really not the time to open a new package of coffee beans, grind some, and brew up coffee. Morning. I will look forward to doing so in the morning. And now I will have to go play Tetris with the freezer to get that five pound bag of coffee beans in there.
