There's never a good time to be ill

monkey5sI have to admit I am sick today. I'm feeling weird about that fact, because last year at this time I was so desperately ill that the entire holiday just kind of disappeared. First time I can EVER remember not attending the family Christmas Eve feast and presents. The bro and s-i-l showed up here on Christmas Day, to bring me my gifts. The s-i-l said she was going to bring me some of the leftover roast beef, but they had other stops to make first. I don't think she felt badly about that since I turned green when she mentioned food.
I am taking much better care of myself right now, so I'm hoping this flu-like yuck leaves me as quickly as it arrived. Last night I was getting ready for bed, sitting on the edge of the bed thinking how good I felt! I wanted to get a shower today, but then I should be able to get to the store, and do some cleaning, bake some cookies.
When I got up to feed the cats this morning I had aches and pains all over, so I went back to bed. I did make it up for a shower in the afternoon, but instead of making me feel better it just made me feel cold. The fever was down earlier, but it might go up again. I still feel ill, so it's not all gone. But I am pushing fluids despite being on a diuretic for my blood pressure, and I will keep pushing them.
Now I am trying to decide, watch a DVD or go lie down? I'm feeling cold again, so I suspect I'll just lie down. MUST KICK THIS SICK TO THE CURB! (aaand, this is what you get for going out in public places three days in a row this time of year. Hard to believe there are still diseases I haven't gotten immunity to, but things do mutate.)
