Signs of spring- we takes what we can gets

Sure signs of spring:

Great Lakes Brewing Co. has released this year's batch of Rye of the Tiger IPA.
Bell Brewery released their rye ale, Smitten.
Columbus Brewing Co. released this year's first batch of Summer Teeth kellerbier.

And, in a desperate attempt at finding a silver lining, the warm weather and excessive RAIN has started the ant invasion in my kitchen/.

I've got ants, too. I set out new ant baits on Friday, but I'm not really seeing results yet.

I still haven't gotten spray or anything, but I read that you just need to break their scent trail and it will discourage them from coming around. The blogger I read had tried cinnamon, and it did well. I have no way of getting to their point of entry (rather, their point of entry is large and old and well-established) so I just scattered ground cinnamon all over the counters where they are. There are some in a new location, a wall-hung cupboard across from the stove, which is not so easy to powder, but I put some on a towel and wiped the area they'd been walking. It seems to have helped quite a bit in both areas, though I admit it seems odd to just live with brown powder all over. I will be interested in seeing how it goes. After the spring rainy season I should be done with the invasion. I hope.

I've heard good things about using mint to repel ants. It may be based on the "break their scent trail" thing, also.
